Exuma: Private island in the Bahamas. This extensive project originally had two dated shacks on the island. The only requirement from the client was to create a Bali Inspired – Richard Branson style retreat. Starting point was to do hand sketched drawings until initial concept was approved. Step 2, DFY provided architectural drawings which were conceptualized and designed by Bernadette. Three buildings were added to complete the island. Once all drawings were approved, everything was built full scale in Canada, then disassembled packed into containers along with custom kitchen, custom Bali style poster bed which was made from re-salvaged teak wood. All was shipped to Florida, and then onto the Bahamas where everything was built on the island. A beautiful expression of capturing a luxurious escape for the very elite. It was a fabulous and fun project to be a part of.
